Englewood Bus Stop and Park Entry
Englewood, CO
Project included investigation of historic context, reconstruction and adaptive re-use of a historic transit shelter, and incorporation of public art and artwork designed by architect. Original structure was built at the turn of the century. After demolition, several pieces of the original structure became possessions
of the City of Englewood. Historic research was completed to understand the look and feel of the original structure to include masonry reflective of the origin era, roof tile.

Original artwork was utilized for bus schedules and park paving plans. Structure was built with passive solar in mind. Additionally, landscaping was selected based on the winter elements and traffic. Upon the project’s completion, the City elected to use the bus stop as a major entryway to the park.
