Plains Theater Before Renovation

MISSION
The Owner’s goal is to rehabilitate the three historic building:

- Plains Theater
- Pool Hall
- Bentley Building
as the Crow Luther Cultural Events Center. The result of the completed project will be:
 
• A center appropriate for all ages
including teenagers, adults and
seniors.
• Contribution to the revitalization of
Eads’ historic Maine Street business
district.
• Development of tourism
opportunities related to local
history and the nearby Sand Creek
Massacre National Park Service site.
 
The Town’s decision to rehabilitate this group of buildings is part of its overall commitment to the revitalization of the town historic Maine Street commercial district.

HISTORIC SIGNIFICANCE

The three buildings are listed on the Kiowa County Register of Historic Places. The theater itself is the work of the well-known theater designers known as the Boller Brothers, who specialized in theater design and were the architects of movie houses throughout the Midwest between 1902 and 1950.
